What is ARA-290?
ARA-290 was engineered by isolating the helix B region of erythropoietin, the segment believed responsible for EPO’s cell-protective actions, while removing the sequence elements tied to hematopoiesis. The result is a short peptide that researchers use to probe tissue-repair pathways separately from EPO’s blood-building effects.
How it is understood to work
ARA-290 is thought to act through the innate repair receptor, a heterocomplex of the erythropoietin receptor and the beta-common receptor subunit (CD131), rather than through the classical homodimeric EPO receptor that drives erythropoiesis. Engagement of this receptor is proposed to dampen inflammatory signaling and support neuronal and vascular repair processes in cell and animal models.
Research status
Cibinetide has progressed further than most bioregulator-style peptides, having been examined in human clinical trials for conditions such as sarcoidosis-associated small-fiber neuropathy and diabetic neuropathic pain, in addition to extensive preclinical work in inflammation and metabolic-dysfunction models. It remains an investigational compound with no approved therapeutic indication.

Handling & storage
Supplied as a lyophilized powder; store unopened vials at -20C away from light, and once reconstituted keep refrigerated at 2-8C for use within the study’s defined window.
Concentration check: adding 2 ml of bacteriostatic water to one 16 mg vial gives 8 mg/ml. The Research Lab calculator in your dashboard works this out for any volume.
Questions
Does ARA-290 raise red blood cell counts the way erythropoietin does?
No. It was specifically designed to exclude the erythropoietin receptor homodimer interaction responsible for red-cell stimulation, engaging instead the separate innate repair receptor pathway.
What purity and identity data should a COA include for ARA-290?
Look for HPLC purity at or above 98-99%, correct molecular weight confirmation around 1257 g/mol by mass spectrometry, and a batch-specific report from an independent testing lab such as Janoshik.
How much ARA-290 is in this kit?
10 vials of 16 mg each, so 160 mg in total. The lab testing section above shows what the brand’s tested vial actually contained.
